What is coldworking, you might ask. Coldworking is defined as manipulation or alteration of glass without the use of heat, using water-fed machines and techniques to grind, sand, cut, polish, etc.

This process always takes place after glass has been cooled to room temperature and annealed properly. Coldworking can also be referred to as “finishing” or the final step in the manufacturing process of glass artwork. Most glass objects are not considered finished or salable until they have been properly coldworked.
